Disney Announces Return of Dreamfinder to EPCOT's Journey Into Imagination
Disney confirmed that the Dreamfinder character will be reinstated in a revamped Journey Into Imagination attraction alongside Figment at EPCOT, though no timeline was provided.
Disney said it will bring back the Dreamfinder character as part of a reimagined Journey Into Imagination experience with Figment at EPCOT. The announcement was made by Disney Experiences Chairman Thomas Mazloum, who said the company had listened to guest feedback and was adding Dreamfinder to place guests "at the center of everything we do." Neil Patrick Harris appeared in costume as Dreamfinder, holding a Figment plush during the reveal.
Dreamfinder originally appeared in the attraction's first version, using a Dream Mobile to create Figment and guide guests through themed scenes covering art, literature, performing arts and science. The pavilion’s later iterations, including Journey Into Your Imagination (1999-2001) and Journey Into Imagination with Figment, received mixed reviews, prompting long-standing fan calls for a return of the original character.
Disney did not disclose a schedule for the renovation or when the current version of the ride will close.
