White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt to join Trump-aligned super PAC MAGA Inc.
Karoline Leavitt announced she will leave her role as White House press secretary and return to work for the Trump-affiliated super PAC MAGA Inc., citing family considerations.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Friday that she will depart the administration and resume a position with President Donald Trump’s super PAC MAGA Inc., where she previously served as a spokesperson. Leavitt, 28, made the announcement aboard Air Force One before a flight to South Carolina for a rally, noting that the trip would be her last as press secretary. She added that she will continue to travel to Washington and attend the Republican National Committee’s midterm convention in September.
Leavitt, who became the youngest press secretary in the Trump administration’s history, first joined the White House during the former president’s first term as an assistant press secretary. She later worked as communications director for Rep. Elise Stefanik and ran unsuccessfully for Congress in New Hampshire in 2022 before taking a role with MAGA Inc. After joining Trump’s 2024 campaign, she gave birth to her second child in May and returned from maternity leave in July.
President Trump posted on his social platform that Leavitt is stepping down to spend more time with her children and will become a senior outside advisor for the campaign. MAGA Inc. did not immediately respond to requests for comment on her new role.
