Republican senators release Fauci texts on pregnancy vaccine risk
Republican senators Ron Johnson and Rand Paul released excerpts of Dr. Anthony Fauci's former government phone, showing his discussion of a theoretical first-trimester miscarriage risk linked to fever after a second COVID-19 mRNA vaccine dose, and said the material would be reviewed further, CNN reported.
Earlier, Fox News published leaked messages in which Fauci and senior health officials debated the possibility of fever after a second dose and its hypothetical impact on early pregnancy. The outlet later noted that Senator Johnson claimed the texts revealed Fauci privately voiced concerns that differed from his public statements that no safety signals had been observed among vaccinated pregnant women.
