49ers place rookie Ricky Pearsall on IR, ending his 2026 season
The San Francisco 49ers placed rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall on injured reserve on July 29, 2026, after scheduling posterior cruciate ligament surgery that will keep him out for the entire 2026 NFL season, NFL. com reported.
The move came after the team evaluated three wide receivers — Bachman, Dee Eskridge and Irwin — in tryouts following Pearsall’s knee swelling earlier in July, as reported by Niners Nation. Former Seahawks second-round pick Dee Eskridge, now a free agent, was among those invited to the tryout, according to Field Gulls, and the team had noted uncertainty over Pearsall’s condition during training camp.
