Eagles finish third training-camp practice, defense shines, offense falters
The Philadelphia Eagles completed a non-padded third training-camp practice at the Jefferson Health Training Complex on July 26, with the defense dominating and quarterback Jalen Hurts and the offense encountering difficulties, Bleeding Green Nation reported. Earlier in the camp, NBC Sports Philadelphia noted that the second practice featured a first-team injury, quarterback rotations and a strong defensive performance. The first practice, also covered by NBC Sports Philadelphia, showed a largely healthy roster, new jersey numbers and a revamped offense under coordinator Sean Mannion. At the opening press conference, PhillyVoice quoted general manager Howie Roseman and head coach Nick Sirianni discussing interior defensive-line depth, Jalen Carter's contract, the backup quarterback competition and Jonathan Greenard's injury status.
PhillyVoice also highlighted wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks' key catch and rookie quarterback Cole Payton's struggles during drills. Bleeding Green Nation reported that the team reported to camp on July 28 and released a projected 53-man roster, while PhillyVoice said Roseman was willing to trade five depth players. NBC Sports Philadelphia earlier announced that the Eagles had begun training camp at the newly renamed Jefferson Health Training Complex with a schedule that includes one public practice and several preseason games, and analysts had outlined likely roster spots.
