Chloe Fineman Announces Departure from Saturday Night Live After Seven Seasons
Comedian Chloe Fineman confirmed she is leaving Saturday Night Live after seven years on the show, as it prepares for its 52nd season.
Chloe Fineman, a longtime cast member of Saturday Night Live, said on Instagram on Thursday that she will exit the program after seven seasons. In a caption accompanying photos and video clips from her tenure, she thanked the cast and crew, calling them "my family" and describing the show as "my home."
"It’s cliche to say this but working at S.N.L. has been the greatest privilege of my life," Fineman wrote, adding that she fell in love with the studio the moment she entered it.
She also addressed creator Lorne Michaels, noting she felt "forever in your debt." Fineman reflected on the pressures of the live format, saying the work demands total commitment even when a sketch fails, which can be both exhilarating and devastating.
Fineman, 37, joined the series in 2019 as a featured player and was promoted to the main cast in 2021. In recent years she has expanded into film, appearing in titles such as "Summer of 69," "Freakier Friday," and Francis Ford Coppola’s upcoming epic "Megalopolis." Upcoming projects include the romantic comedy "Love Language" and the sports comedy "The Dink."
She is the first cast member to leave since the end of the 51st season, which saw several departures and new hires. Season 52 of Saturday Night Live is slated to begin in the fall.
