Guests Describe Strict NDA and Staged Invitations for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's Wedding

Résumé

Attendees said the couple required multi-factor authentication, personalized digital invites and a sealed nondisclosure agreement, revealing the venue only hours before the ceremony.

American Century Investments chief Jonathan Thomas said guests for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's July 3 wedding at Madison Square Garden were required to complete multi-factor authentication and sign a DocuSign nondisclosure agreement before receiving individualized digital invitations. Each invite was watermarked with the recipient's name to deter screenshot sharing. Details about the event were released gradually, with the date first, then the city, and finally the venue disclosed at 4 a.m. on the day of the ceremony.

Thomas recounted initially dismissing text messages that appeared to come from the couple as spam, only to be contacted directly by Kelce weeks later. He noted that the NDA "had teeth" but declined to discuss its specifics.

Country singer Brad Paisley, who attended with his wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley, said the invitation made clear the importance of the guests, adding that the organizers revealed information slowly in a "cat-and-mouse" fashion. He described the wedding as "one of the least pretentious weddings" he had seen.

AMC Entertainment chief Adam Aron, another attendee, briefly posted about the venue's transformation into an intimate garden setting before deleting the message. He highlighted the couple's $26 million charitable contributions made during the wedding weekend.
