JPMorgan appoints two co-presidents as Marianne Lake retires, ending female CEO pipeline
The U. S. bank JPMorgan Chase announced the promotion of Doug Petno and Troy Rohrbaugh to newly created co-president positions and the retirement of chief operating officer Marianne Lake. CNBC reported that the move reshapes the succession plan for CEO Jamie Dimon.
The New York Post and Fox Business echoed the announcement, noting that the co-president roles were intended to broaden the leadership bench. Lake’s departure was described as a retirement, ending her tenure at the firm. The Financial Times, cited by the New York Post, said Lake forfeited roughly $50 million in unvested shares, and Fortune added that the decision closes the bank’s most prominent female pipeline to the CEO role.
