Rapper Jelly Roll and Podcaster Bunnie Xo Discuss Divorce in New Video
Jelly Roll posted a YouTube vlog about his pending divorce from Bunnie Xo, while the couple said they remain friends and will continue IVF treatments.
Rapper Jelly Roll, whose legal name is Jason Bradley DeFord, uploaded a YouTube video titled “The Divorce Vlog” on Friday, addressing speculation about his relationship with podcaster Bunnie Xo. In the clip he acknowledged expectations that the split would be contentious and said he would share details about the divorce. He then placed a phone call to Xo, who used the moment to promote the latest episode of her “Dumb Blonde” podcast.
In a recent episode of the podcast, Xo, whose legal name is Alisa Carter, described how the couple’s disagreement began on Mother’s Day, leading her to suggest filing for divorce. The couple filed for divorce on May 18, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
Both parties said they intend to remain friends and continue their joint efforts to have a child through in-vitro fertilization. Xo, who has spoken publicly about her IVF journey, said the separation will not affect their parenthood plans. Jelly Roll is already father to two children, Bailee, 18, and Noah, 9.
The filing ends a marriage that began in Las Vegas in 2016, after a brief separation in 2018 and a vow renewal in 2023. Moving trucks were observed outside their Williamson County, Tennessee residence following the filing, though it is unclear which party is relocating.
"Our castle in the sand had to crumble so we could rebuild on solid ground," Xo said in a TikTok video posted after their vow renewal.
"It would take years for me to put the affair aside," Xo wrote in her February memoir, referring to a past infidelity.
Jelly Roll has confirmed he is dating another person since the filing.
