President Donald Trump is set to visit China from May 13 to 15, accompanied by a delegation of prominent U.S. business leaders, including CEOs from Apple, Tesla, and Boeing.
President Donald Trump is scheduled to make a state visit to China from May 13 to 15, 2026, accompanied by First Lady Melania Trump. This marks his second state visit to China, following his initial trip in November 2017.
The White House has announced that a delegation of over a dozen chief executives will join President Trump on this visit. Notable members include Tim Cook of Apple, Elon Musk of Tesla, and Kelly Ortberg of Boeing. Other executives from companies such as BlackRock, Blackstone, Cargill, Citigroup, Cisco, Coherent, GE Aerospace, Goldman Sachs, Illumina, Mastercard, Meta, Micron, Qualcomm, and Visa are also expected to participate.
The inclusion of Mr. Musk in the delegation indicates a restoration of his relationship with President Trump. Mr. Musk previously served as an advisor to the president but departed the administration in May 2025.
The visit aims to discuss the creation of a board of investment and a board of trade with China, focusing on strengthening economic ties between the two nations.
Notably, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang was not invited to join the delegation. This decision comes as Nvidia awaits approval from both China and the United States to begin shipping an early model of the company’s AI chips, the H200, to China.
The upcoming meetings are seen as critical due to the complex and high-stakes dynamics between the two global powers, especially in light of ongoing trade disputes and regional security concerns.
