Travis Kelce describes wedding to Taylor Swift ahead of Chiefs season opener

Résumé

In an ESPN interview before the Chiefs' first game, tight end Travis Kelce called his July wedding to Taylor Swift the best night of his life, while teammate Patrick Mahomes recalled dancing at the ceremony.

Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce spoke with ESPN anchor Chris Berman on the eve of the Chiefs' season opener, reflecting on his recent marriage to singer Taylor Swift. Kelce confirmed the ceremony took place on July 3 at Madison Square Garden and said it was "the best night of my life" and exceeded his expectations because of the guests and the atmosphere.

"Marrying Taylor was more than I could have ever dreamed it to be because of all the people that showed up, and the amount of love that was in the air," Kelce told Berman.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes added that he enjoyed the celebration, noting he tried "a little dancing" despite not being sure of his abilities.

"It was a lot of fun, I did a little dancing. I didn't know if I was gonna be able to dance, and it was good to get my first dancing experience of the offseason," Mahomes said.

The wedding, attended by nearly 1,000 guests including many Chiefs players and head coach Andy Reid, has been described by Kelce in other media as a memorable night. The Chiefs will face the Denver Broncos at 8:15 p.m. ET on Monday, September 14.
