Apple plans iOS 27.1 beta next week, public release expected in October
Apple is set to roll out the first iOS 27.1 beta within a week of the iOS 27 launch and aims to ship the public update in mid-October ahead of the iPhone Duo release.
Apple will release iOS 27 to all users on Monday, September 14, introducing features such as an upgraded Siri AI. The company is expected to make the first iOS 27.1 beta available about a week later, following a pattern observed with previous iOS versions where beta releases followed the main launch within 2-9 days.
The public version of iOS 27.1 is slated for October, with Apple confirming that it will be ready by the iPhone Duo launch on October 23. Based on past release schedules, the update could appear between Monday, October 19 and Wednesday, October 21.
"iPhone Duo will be available with iOS 27.1," the iPhone Duo press release states.
Details about the contents of iOS 27.1 remain unclear, aside from changes specific to the iPhone Duo. Apple is expected to provide further information after the beta becomes available.
