Powerball Jackpot Reaches $1.1 Billion After No Winner in Saturday's Drawing
The Powerball jackpot has increased to an estimated $1.1 billion after no ticket matched all six numbers in Saturday's drawing. The next drawing is scheduled for Monday.
The Powerball jackpot has risen to an estimated $1.1 billion, following Saturday's drawing where no ticket matched all six numbers. This marks the fifth-largest prize in the game's history. The winning numbers drawn were 3, 18, 22, 27, 33, and the red Powerball 17.
Nine tickets matched all five white balls, each winning $1 million. Four of these were sold in California, at locations including a 7-Eleven in Duarte and Ontario Liquor in Ontario. The other five were sold in Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania. Additionally, three tickets purchased with the Power Play option matched all five white balls, earning $2 million each; these were sold in Colorado, Indiana, and New Hampshire.
The next drawing is scheduled for Monday. A single winner would have the option of receiving the estimated $1.1 billion prize as an annuity, paid over 30 years, or a lump sum of approximately $498.4 million, both before taxes. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, with drawings held three times a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday nights.
