Powerball Jackpot Reaches $1 Billion; Winning Numbers Announced
The Powerball jackpot has reached $1 billion, with the winning numbers for the August 30 drawing announced.
The Powerball jackpot has reached an estimated $1 billion, marking the sixth time in the game's history that the prize has hit this milestone. The winning numbers for the Saturday, August 30 drawing were 3, 18, 22, 27, 33, with the red Powerball number 17.
As of now, it is unclear if any ticket matched all six numbers to claim the jackpot. The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 292.2 million. If no winning ticket is confirmed, the jackpot will continue to grow for the next drawing.
Powerball drawings are held three times a week—on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday—at 10:59 p.m. ET. Tickets are sold in 45 states, as well as Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
