Woman charged with juror intimidation in Lindsay Clancy murder trial arraigned

Summary

Dawn Light, 56, was arraigned on a charge of intimidation of a witness after police said she recorded jurors exiting the courthouse during the Lindsay Clancy trial.

A Massachusetts woman was arraigned Wednesday on a single count of intimidation of a witness, juror, or person furnishing information in connection with criminal proceedings, authorities said. Dawn Light, 56, of Sutton, was arrested at about 3:40 p.m. after court security found her vehicle parked near a restricted area as jurors in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial were dismissed for the day.

State police reported that Light allowed officers to examine the photos on her phone and that a video of jurors leaving the courthouse was recovered from recently deleted content. Prosecutors said Light told them she was waiting to see if Lindsay Clancy would emerge from the building.

Light entered a not-guilty plea and was released on personal recognizance after the arraignment. Outside the courthouse she reiterated that she was trying to see Clancy, stating, "I did see her. She was getting picked up by the van," before being advised not to comment further.

Judge William Sullivan issued a public warning to the public and media about conduct surrounding the trial and questioned each juror individually, a step he said related to Light's alleged actions.
