Ford unveils details and pricing for the 2027 Fathom electric pickup

Résumé

Ford announced that its midsize electric pickup, the Fathom, will launch in early 2027 with a starting price of $28,350 before fees, and highlighted its interior technology and testing progress.

Ford confirmed that its new midsize electric pickup, named the Fathom, will go on sale in early 2027. The standard-range model is priced at $28,350, not including a $1,595 delivery fee, putting the total under $30,000. The company said the vehicle will target the affordable EV segment and will provide more passenger space than a Toyota RAV4, plus additional cargo capacity in the bed and front trunk.

The Fathom will be the first vehicle to integrate Apple Maps directly into its navigation system, offering turn-by-turn directions and EV-specific routing. Ford also listed a large touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, BlueCruise driver assistance, bidirectional charging and a digital key among its features. Production is slated to begin in the first quarter of 2027 at Ford’s Louisville Assembly plant.

CEO Jim Farley described recent desert testing of the prototype and noted a brief stop in Las Vegas where the vehicle’s new name was revealed. While full specifications remain unreleased, Ford expects a minimum range of 300 miles and confirmed that the pickup will include a built-in NACS charging port, as seen on prototype units charging at a Tesla Supercharger in July.
