Geoff Ogilvy completes International Presidents Cup roster with six captain's picks
Captain Geoff Ogilvy named six additional players to the International team for the 2026 Presidents Cup, joining five automatic qualifiers.
Captain Geoff Ogilvy announced the six captain's picks that complete the International team's 12-member roster for the 2026 Presidents Cup, bringing the squad to a mix of world-ranked qualifiers and newcomers. The automatic qualifiers include Si Woo Kim, the only player in the top 20 of the Official World Golf Ranking, as well as major champions Adam Scott, Hideki Matsuyama and Ryan Fox, who recently rose to No. 25 after his win at Royal Birkdale. Min Woo Lee and Tom Kim also earned spots, both ranked inside the top 30.
Ogilvy's selections add players without major titles but with recent match experience: Sungjae Im, Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Corey Conners have all competed at recent Presidents Cup venues, Quail Hollow in 2022 and Royal Montreal in 2024. The remaining three picks—Colombia's Nico Echavarria, Japan's Ryo Hisatsune and Canada's Nick Taylor—have yet to appear in a Presidents Cup.
Veteran Jason Day, the highest-ranked International player at No. 67, was omitted, reportedly due to lingering back-injury concerns after missing the FedExCup Playoffs. South African hopefuls Casey Jarvis, Aldrich Potgieter and Jayden Schaper were also left out.
The competition will be televised on Golf Channel and NBC from September 24-27 at Medinah Country Club, where the United States enters as defending champion with a roster led by Scottie Scheffler, Cameron Young and Wyndham Clark.
