Eagles conclude training camp ahead of preseason finale

Résumé

Philadelphia wrapped its 2026 training camp with a final practice, finalizing roster decisions before hosting the Bengals in the preseason finale.

Philadelphia wrapped up its 2026 training camp on Wednesday with a non-padded, hour-and-a-half practice. The team will host the Cincinnati Bengals in the preseason finale on Friday night at Lincoln Financial Field and must cut its roster to 53 players by Sunday evening.

Injury updates showed offensive tackle Markel Bell (thumb/leg), cornerback Jakorian Bennett (knee), tight ends Grant Calcaterra (back) and Eli Stowers (hamstring), and safety Cole Wisniewski (concussion) were out, while cornerback Jonathan Jones (shoulder) participated in a limited capacity after missing eight practices.

Quarterback competition continued, with Andy Dalton taking the first snaps in team drills and Tanner McKee leading the 7-on-7 series. The offense ran 12-personnel sets featuring Dallas Goedert, Johnny Mundt, Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks, switching to 11-personnel by substituting Makai Lemon for Mundt.

The first-team offensive line consisted of Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens, Tyler Steen and Lane Johnson; the second unit featured John Ojukwu, Drew Kendall, Jake Majors, Willie Lampkin and Fred Johnson. Four players—Makai Lemon, Britain Covey, Quez Watkins and Cooper DeJean—handled punt return duties, suggesting Lemon could see a return role as a rookie.

Jalen Hurts connected with Barkley on a quick pass that resulted in a sizable gain, while a later 7-on-7 play saw Lemon catch two consecutive passes from McKee, the second a touchdown. Defensive back Michael Carter II intercepted a pass intended for Darius Cooper after an errant throw by Dalton.

Rookie seventh-round pick Keyshawn James-Newby recorded a sack during a team drill after returning from an ankle injury. Former UFL receiver Erik Ezukanma caught a touchdown pass from McKee on a 4th-and-goal play, though he does not have a roster spot.

Hurts also threw a touchdown to DeVonta Smith, reinforcing Smith’s status as a primary receiver. Additional notes included a drop by Cam Latu, a disputed defensive pass interference call on Ambry Thomas, and contributions from undrafted defensive backs Kapena Gushiken and others.

The Eagles will finalize their roster before the preseason game against the Bengals, with the regular season approaching.
