US Secret Service monitors Iranian broadcast that threatens Barron Trump

Resumen

The Secret Service confirmed it is investigating a state-run Iranian video that appears to call for killing President Donald Trump's son, Barron Trump.

The United States Secret Service said it is aware of a video aired by Iran’s state broadcaster that appears to threaten the life of Barron Trump, the youngest son of President Donald Trump. The three-minute clip opens with an English graphic asking “Where to kill Barron Trump?!” and shows stylized images of locations associated with the boy, such as Trump Tower in New York. Toward the end, a narrator mentions a $10 million reward for carrying out the act.

"The US Secret Service is aware of the video and investigates anything that can be perceived as a threat toward our protectees," Secret Service spokesperson Nate Herring told CNN. "Out of concern for operational security, we do not discuss matters of protective intelligence."

The broadcast was carried over the weekend by IRIB, Iran’s state media outlet whose head is appointed by the supreme leader. A federal law-enforcement source said the clip is part of a broader series of videos targeting the Trump family, some of which have included specific movement details and calls for violence. Protective operations are reportedly being adjusted continuously based on intelligence from multiple agencies.

President Trump has previously referenced Iranian threats, describing them as coming from "evil, sick people" during a NATO summit in July. The White House has not responded to requests for comment.
