Apple Watch Series 12 to Feature New S12 Chip, watchOS 27 and Brighter Display

Resumen

Apple's upcoming Series 12 smartwatch will retain its current case sizes while adding a brighter 2,000-nit display, a more efficient S12 processor and watchOS 27 with upgraded Siri capabilities.

Apple is set to launch the Watch Series 12 with incremental hardware upgrades rather than a full redesign. The new model will keep the 42mm and 46mm case dimensions but will use an enhanced display that can reach up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness and dim to as low as 1 nit for night use. The always-on Retina screen will continue to employ the Liquid Glass design for improved contrast.

The device will be powered by a new S12 chip that Apple says improves processing speed and optimises power consumption. Battery capacity remains similar to the Series 11, offering roughly 24 hours of operation on a single charge. Apple acknowledges that this places the watch behind competitors such as Garmin and Huawei, which provide multi-day battery life.

watchOS 27 will debut with the Series 12, introducing a more advanced Siri that leverages AI for conversational interactions and personalized responses. The update also adds a dynamic app grid that surfaces frequently used apps and tighter cross-device integration with iPhone, iPad and other Apple products.

Health and fitness tracking will benefit from the S12’s increased precision, with more accurate heart-rate monitoring, refined sleep-analysis algorithms and tighter activity-tracking metrics. No entirely new health sensors are announced, but the focus is on reliability and detail.

Overall, the Series 12 aims to enhance display quality, software responsiveness and processing efficiency while maintaining the existing form factor and battery endurance.
