Undiscovered Nintendo cartridges unearthed in Wisconsin may fetch high prices
A box containing nearly 100 previously unknown Nintendo Entertainment System cartridges was found in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and could be valued at millions of dollars.
A storage box discovered in Waukesha, Wisconsin, held close to 100 Nintendo Entertainment System cartridges, including an undocumented version of Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt. Analysts said the games were manufactured two years after the last known production run and feature distinct labels, screws, manuals and motherboards. The seller said the cartridges were originally sent to a metal-recovery service for melting, but the items were never destroyed. Several copies are in pristine condition and have received the highest ten-grade rating from the Professional Sports Authenticator for NES games.
"The cartridges are printed two years after the last known run and feature different labels, screws, manuals and motherboards," an expert said. "Some are in perfect condition, earning the first 10 grades from the Professional Sports Authenticator for a Nintendo Entertainment System game," the expert added.
