Fans report view obstructions at Buffalo Bills' new Highmark Stadium

Resumen

Several Buffalo Bills supporters have highlighted obstructed sightlines in the newly opened $2.2 billion Highmark Stadium, citing glass panels and structural elements that limit visibility from certain seats.

Buffalo Bills fans who attended a recent practice session at the newly opened Highmark Stadium reported that a number of seats provide limited views of the field. Social-media posts showed that glass panels at the 50-yard line and upper-deck railings can blur or block sightlines, while a standing platform in the lower level near the 12-13-yard line obstructs the opposite side of the field. Some higher-level seats were described as looking through glass and staircase railings, reducing visibility of the end zone.

The stadium, which cost $2.2 billion and features an awning covering about 65 % of seats, infrared heating under the seats and a heated grass field, was designed to retain an outdoor atmosphere while adding modern amenities. However, critics argue that the obstructed views are problematic given the high price of tickets and personal seat licenses.

"Fans felt misled after being assured that the railings wouldn't impede their view of the game," a commentator noted.

Stadium designers acknowledge that some sightline issues are common in modern venues, especially where staircases and safety railings are required. The Bills organization has not yet responded publicly to the complaints.
