Police rescued the celebrity blogger from his Miami home after a TikTok livestream showing self-harm, and he is now receiving medical care.

Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office officers responded to multiple calls reporting a person livestreaming self-harm on TikTok from a home in the Miami area. The individual, identified as celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, was found alone in the residence. Deputies spoke with family members outside, disengaged the situation tactically, and escorted Hilton to a local hospital where he is receiving medical attention, according to police statements.

The department said its deputies prioritized de-escalation, using time, distance and communication to reduce the risk of injury and avoid a potential "suicide-by-cop" scenario. Mental-health professionals were also dispatched to provide support to the family.

Hilton's team posted a statement on his website confirming he is in care and asking for privacy. Podcast co-host Chris Booker said the focus remains on Hilton's health and that future collaborations are pending.

TikTok reported that its automated moderation systems flagged the livestream within minutes, ending the broadcast after about 15 minutes. The platform said a moderator error delayed the removal of the stream and that authorities were alerted.

Hilton, born Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., rose to fame with a celebrity gossip blog in the early 2000s and later expanded into television, music videos and podcasting. He has three children born via surrogacy and recently relocated to Las Vegas with his family.
