Jadeveon Clowney signs to return to the Houston Texans

Résumé

Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney has agreed to rejoin the Houston Texans, the team that selected him first overall in the 2014 draft.

Jadeveon Clowney has signed a contract to return to the Houston Texans, the franchise that drafted him with the No. 1 overall pick in 2014. The three-time Pro Bowl pass rusher spent five seasons with Houston before leaving after the 2018 campaign and subsequently playing for six different teams, including a two-year stint with the Cleveland Browns, the only club where he remained for more than a single season. Although he recently visited Cleveland and general manager Andrew Berry expressed interest in bringing him back, Clowney opted to rejoin the AFC South team.

Clowney comes off a 2025 season in which he recorded 8.5 sacks, leading the Dallas Cowboys' defensive line. His addition bolsters a Houston pass rush that already features standout players such as Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter.
