Ohio Rep. Max Miller Denies Abuse Claims Made by Ex-Wife
Rep. Max Miller said he has no evidence of wrongdoing and that prior investigations found no substantiation for the allegations made by his ex-wife.
Rep. Max Miller, a Republican from Ohio, used a livestream on the social platform X on Sunday to reject claims that he abused his former wife, Emily Moreno, and their daughter. Miller said the allegations stem from his ex-wife’s documented mental-health issues following their divorce and asserted that no court or agency has ever validated the accusations. He added that all allegations have already been investigated and that he has released documents via a file-sharing service to counter the claims, stating he has “nothing to hide.”
Democratic leaders in the district have called for Miller’s resignation and urged a congressional ethics inquiry, while also indicating potential support for his Democratic challenger, union ironworker Brian Poindexter, in the upcoming November election. Miller, who previously served as a White House adviser during the Trump administration, has filed defamation lawsuits against his ex-wife and a second accuser.
The case has drawn renewed media attention as the race for the northeast Ohio seat, which Miller won with just over 51% of the vote in 2022, becomes a focal point for both parties.
