Trump's Truth Social to Offer Paid Fast-Access Feed for Traders

Trump Media & Technology announced that its Truth Social platform will launch a paid service, dubbed Truth API, on Saturday. The feed will provide high-frequency trading firms with near-real-time access to the president’s posts, which have previously moved markets on issues ranging from tariffs to foreign policy. The company said the information will be released to subscribers and the public simultaneously, arguing that the service does not create an unfair advantage.

Industry observers said the offering could raise legal and ethical questions. Irene Aldridge, head of Able Alpha Trading, warned that providing a president’s statements to a select group "would be jail time" if the president were a corporate CEO. Joe Saluzzi, co-founder of Themis Trading, estimated that about 100 high-frequency firms might be willing to pay the $100,000 monthly fee, describing the data as "market-moving information."

Critics noted that Trump’s posts have historically caused sharp price swings in stocks, bonds, currencies and commodities. Federal ethics expert Dylan Hedler-Gaudette said the practice of praising specific companies on the platform "creates a real mess" for market integrity. Project on Government Oversight and consumer-advocacy groups have also expressed concern that retail investors could be disadvantaged because firms with the feed can act on the information milliseconds faster.

Trump Media has not disclosed which firms, if any, have signed up for the service. The company’s spokesperson dismissed Democratic criticism as ideologically driven, while Senator Elizabeth Warren said the program represents "open corruption" that should be investigated. The new feed arrives as the parent company continues to report significant losses, having seen its stock fall 75% since the president took office.
