49ers coach Kyle Shanahan makes brief appearance at practice amid concussion recovery
Head coach Kyle Shanahan attended about half an hour of the 49ers' training camp practice on Sunday, while continuing to recover from injuries sustained in a July car crash.
San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan was on the practice field for roughly 30 minutes on Sunday, observing the 11-on-11 drills from a position deep behind the secondary alongside general manager John Lynch. Shanahan is still recovering from a severe concussion and other injuries sustained in a July 14 automobile accident, limiting his participation in training camp. Assistant head coach Chris Foerster has been acting as head coach during Shanahan's absence. The team has not announced when the head coach will be cleared for full duties. The 49ers are scheduled to open the season against the Los Angeles Rams on September 10 in Melbourne, Australia.
