Apple releases iOS 27 Public Beta 2 with lock-screen, Siri and Control Center updates

Resumen

Apple's iOS 27 Public Beta 2 introduces uniform lock-screen icons, new Siri accents and several visual and functional tweaks, while fixing bugs reported in the previous beta.

Apple has rolled out iOS 27 Public Beta 2, focusing on interface consistency and bug fixes. The lock screen now displays all icons in white regardless of light or dark mode, a change intended to improve readability.

The update also refines the volume rocker animation, adds a splash screen to Spotlight search and outlines the microphone icon, and adjusts keyboard key spacing for better typing accuracy.

In the Control Center, a new adaptive mode slider lets users switch between AirPods noise-cancellation and transparency modes more directly, and cellular signal strength indicators have been corrected after earlier inconsistencies.

Siri gains additional voice options, including South African, Irish, Indian, British and Australian accents, though some are still listed as “coming soon.” Core apps such as Health and Find My receive minor visual adjustments, and a bug that caused wallpaper glitches when notifications appeared has been resolved.

Developers and early adopters can use the beta to test these changes ahead of the upcoming iOS 27 release.
