Sydney Sweeney fronts American Eagle's new low-rise denim campaign

Actress Sydney Sweeney, 28, is featured in American Eagle's new advertising series that highlights low-rise denim styles for the summer season. The campaign showcases a variety of cuts, including wide-leg, skinny, boot-cut and baggy silhouettes, paired with simple tees, tank tops, denim shirts and a cropped jean jacket. > "Denim on denim is always in," Sweeney said in an Instagram Story promoting the collection. The images include Sweeney wearing slouchy cargo pants that sit low on the hips, as well as a barefoot pose in jeans and a white tee with loose curls. The promotion follows her previous American Eagle partnership that began in July 2025 and generated controversy over a wordplay tagline that some critics linked to eugenics. Both the retailer and Sweeney defended the earlier campaign, with the company stating the ads focus solely on the clothing. Sweeney later told GQ that the backlash surprised her, adding, "I did a jean ad. I love jeans!" American Eagle announced that Sweeney will remain a brand ambassador through the end of 2026, and the company’s CEO noted that the partnership has been financially successful.
