Caitlin Clark scores career-high 45 as Indiana Fever beat Dallas Storm 110-107
Caitlin Clark recorded 45 points and 10 assists, the first 40-point, 10-assist game in WNBA history, helping the Indiana Fever edge the Dallas Storm 110-107.
Caitlin Clark posted a career-high 45 points on 11-of-18 shooting, including 6-of-10 from three-point range, and added 10 assists, four steals and four turnovers in the Indiana Fever's 110-107 victory over the Dallas Storm on Friday. The performance made Clark the first player in WNBA history to record at least 40 points and 10 assists in a single game. She also became the fastest player to reach 200 career three-pointers, achieving the mark in just 74 games, surpassing the previous record held by Katie Smith.
The Fever held a 17-point lead in the second quarter but saw the advantage shrink after a pre-halftime lapse and a defensive third quarter, trailing by eight points midway through the fourth. Clark's 16 points in the final quarter, including decisive free throws, secured the win and prevented a larger defeat.
Clark had missed two games earlier in the month due to a lingering back injury and had struggled in three games after returning, averaging 11.3 points on 35.1 percent shooting. She also voiced concerns about missed calls by officials in a recent game, saying she played with a quad contusion.
"We need to keep pushing and finish strong," Clark said after the game.
The Storm, who hold the league's worst record at 6-21, were unable to capitalize on the Fever's mid-game lapses, and the win marked Indiana's first success after a series of close contests.
