King Charles hosts private reunion with Prince Harry, Meghan and grandchildren at Highgrove

King Charles III welcomed Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and their children, Archie and Lilibet, to his Highgrove estate west of London for a private family gathering, Buckingham Palace confirmed. The meeting, which lasted just over an hour, was held with Queen Consort Camilla at the king’s side.

"The king had wanted contact with Archie and Lilibet, saying, ‘blood is blood,’" said royal expert Hilary Fordwich. Both the palace and the Sussexes asked that details remain confidential, and Harry reportedly assured his father that he would not discuss the encounter publicly. Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, did not attend; William was competing in the DMI Royal Charity Polo Cup at Windsor. Experts noted that the brothers have not spoken since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022 and that reconciliation between them remains uncertain. The reunion follows weeks of planning and security negotiations after Harry’s solo return to the United Kingdom in early July. While Harry’s team sought police protection for his family, the government limited coverage to royal residences, leading Meghan and the children to remain abroad during the visit.
