The U.S. Coast Guard has seized an eight-foot dinghy linked to the disappearance of Lynette Hooker in the Bahamas in April, as investigators continue to seek clarity on her vanishing.

The U.S. Coast Guard has seized an eight-foot dinghy reportedly used by Brian and Lynette Hooker on the night she vanished in early April while they were in the Bahamas. The dinghy was retrieved and brought back to a Coast Guard cutter on Thursday for further investigation.

Coast Guard investigators, including a member of the Investigative Service, were observed on the dinghy, conducting inspections and examining a life jacket. Additionally, a cadaver dog was present as part of the search effort that seeks to provide answers about the circumstances surrounding Lynette Hooker's disappearance.

Brian Hooker reported his wife missing on April 5, asserting that she fell overboard during a nighttime trip due to rough waters while they were traveling from Elbow Cay. He stated that she was swept away along with the keys to the dinghy, which necessitated his return to shore. Hooker was previously detained by Bahamian authorities for five days of questioning but was released and returned to the U.S. without facing charges. Despite his denial of any wrongdoing, discrepancies between his account and GPS data obtained during the investigation have prompted renewed search efforts in the area. Lynette Hooker remains unaccounted for.
