Grand Theft Auto 6 Pre-Orders to Begin May 18 Amid November Release Confirmation

Leaked communications from Best Buy indicate that pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) are set to begin on May 18, 2026. This development suggests that the game's release date of November 19, 2026, is firmly in place.

GTA 6 has experienced multiple delays since its initial announcement. Originally slated for a fall 2025 release, the game was first postponed to May 26, 2026, and subsequently to November 19, 2026. Rockstar Games stated that the additional time would allow them to deliver the level of polish expected by players.

In anticipation of the game's launch, Sony has begun encouraging PlayStation 4 users to upgrade to the PlayStation 5, emphasizing that GTA 6 will be available exclusively on current-generation consoles.

The game's narrative follows protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos as they navigate the criminal underworld of the fictional state of Leonida, which includes the Miami-inspired Vice City.

Rockstar Games has confirmed that marketing efforts for GTA 6 will commence this summer, aligning with the upcoming pre-order phase.

As the pre-order date approaches, further official announcements from Rockstar Games are anticipated.
