A court order has sealed records related to the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose body was discovered in a Tesla registered to singer D4vd, as the investigation continues.
A court order has sealed records concerning the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose decomposed body was found in a Tesla registered to singer D4vd (David Anthony Burke). The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed receiving the order, initiated by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), which prevents the release of details about the case, including the cause and manner of death.
The LAPD's Robbery-Homicide Division is leading the investigation, now characterized as a murder inquiry. Detective Joshua Byers stated that public disclosure of autopsy findings could jeopardize the investigation and endanger witnesses.
Rivas Hernandez was last seen in April 2024 in Lake Elsinore, California. Her remains were discovered on September 8, 2025, in the trunk of an impounded Tesla at a Hollywood tow yard, after reports of a foul odor. The vehicle had been abandoned in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood and towed after being left unattended for several weeks.
D4vd, known for his 2022 hit "Romantic Homicide," has not been publicly named as a suspect. His representatives have stated that he is cooperating with authorities. Following the discovery, D4vd canceled the remaining dates of his U.S. tour and several European performances.
The Medical Examiner's Office has expressed concerns about the rarity and effectiveness of such security holds, emphasizing their commitment to transparency. However, they are legally bound to comply with the court order.
The investigation is ongoing, with no arrests made to date.
