Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the United States and President Donald Trump for their support, following Trump's remarks about Ukraine's lack of appreciation for U.S. efforts.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed gratitude to the United States and President Donald Trump for their assistance, following Trump's criticism of Ukraine's response to U.S. efforts.
On Sunday, President Trump stated on his Truth Social platform that Ukraine's leadership had "expressed zero gratitude for our efforts," referring to the U.S. plan to end the conflict with Russia.
In response, Zelensky posted on X (formerly Twitter): "Ukraine is grateful to the United States, to every American heart, and personally to President Trump for the assistance that – starting with the Javelins – has been saving Ukrainian lives."
Meanwhile, U.S. and Ukrainian officials are engaged in discussions in Geneva to finalize a 28-point draft plan aimed at ending the nearly four-year conflict. Ukrainian negotiator Rustem Umerov noted that the current version of the document "already reflects most of Ukraine's key priorities."
The initial U.S. proposal included provisions requiring Ukraine to cede territory, reduce its military size, and pledge not to join NATO, while also offering security guarantees and the use of frozen Russian assets for reconstruction. President Trump has set a deadline of November 27 for Ukraine to approve the plan but indicated some flexibility regarding this timeline.
