Ukrainian drones have struck industrial facilities in Russia's Bashkortostan and Kursk regions, causing structural damage but no reported casualties.
In the city of Sterlitamak, Bashkortostan, two drones targeted a petrochemical plant. Regional Governor Radiy Khabirov stated that both drones were shot down, resulting in debris causing an explosion and partial collapse of the plant's water treatment facility. Despite the damage, the plant continues to operate, and no injuries were reported among the five workers present at the time.
In the Kursk region, a drone strike hit a power substation in the village of Belaya, leading to a fire and power outages in seven settlements. Emergency crews restored electricity using backup systems, and no casualties were reported.
These incidents are part of a series of Ukrainian drone attacks targeting Russian energy infrastructure, including previous strikes on the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat petrochemical plant in Bashkortostan.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that, in addition to the drones downed over Bashkortostan, its defense systems destroyed 83 drones over seven other Russian regions.
Ukraine has intensified its drone operations deep into Russian territory, aiming to disrupt energy production and logistics. Russia has labeled these attacks as terrorism, while Ukraine asserts they are legitimate acts of self-defense.
