Wichita Police Seek Public's Help in Identifying Individuals from Apparent Abduction Video
Wichita authorities are requesting assistance in identifying a woman and a man captured in surveillance footage of a possible abduction early Sunday morning.
Wichita police have released surveillance footage depicting a woman being forcibly taken by an unidentified man early Sunday morning. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. in the 1400 block of North Volutsia. In the video, the woman is seen being grabbed from behind and dragged down a driveway while screaming.
Authorities are seeking the public's assistance in identifying both individuals. "Your assistance is vital in helping us ensure her safety," the department stated on social media. They urge anyone with information to contact 911 immediately.
Investigators have pursued multiple leads but have yet to determine the identities of the man and woman. The department has reached out to regional and federal law enforcement agencies for support. Additionally, they have processed the audio from the footage to reduce background noise, hoping someone will recognize the woman's voice.
A news conference is scheduled for Tuesday to provide further updates on the investigation. Neighbors have expressed concern for the woman's safety following the incident.
