Mark Sanchez, former NFL quarterback and current Fox Sports analyst, was hospitalized in stable condition following a stabbing incident in downtown Indianapolis early Saturday morning.

According to Indianapolis police, the altercation occurred around 12:30 a.m. in the Wholesale District near the Indiana Statehouse. The incident involved two men, neither of whom are local residents, and is considered an isolated event rather than a random act of violence.

Sanchez, 38, was in Indianapolis to cover Sunday's game between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Indianapolis Colts for Fox Sports. The network expressed gratitude to the medical team for their care and requested privacy for Sanchez and his family during this time.

A first-round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, Sanchez played four seasons with the New York Jets, leading them to two AFC Championship appearances. He also had stints with the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, and Washington. After retiring in 2019, Sanchez transitioned to broadcasting, joining Fox Sports as a game analyst in 2021.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the incident and has reviewed video footage. The case will be forwarded to the Marion County prosecutor's office for review.
