Phantom Blade Zero launches on PC with advanced graphics options and performance benchmarks

Resumen

The action-RPG Phantom Blade Zero is now available for PC, featuring Unreal Engine 5 visuals, NVIDIA DLSS 4.5, ray tracing and path tracing, while performance tests show high hardware requirements for 4K resolution.

Phantom Blade Zero has been released for PC, offering a range of visual enhancements such as NVIDIA's DLSS 4.5, ray tracing, and path tracing on top of Unreal Engine 5. The game includes extensive graphics settings, including presets that automatically match hardware, multiple super-resolution options (TSR, DLSS, AMD FSR, Intel XeSS), and frame-generation support for AMD, Intel and NVIDIA GPUs.

Performance testing on an Intel Core i9-13900K system with a RTX 5090 showed that native 4K Ultra settings deliver sub-60 fps, with only the top-end RTX 5090 maintaining near-60 fps. Enabling ray tracing reduces frame rates by roughly 20-22 %, while path tracing adds an additional 35-40 % drop compared with native Ultra settings. At 1440p, cards such as the RTX 5070 Ti and RX 9070 XT can sustain 60 fps on Ultra presets, while lower-tier GPUs require reduced settings or upscaling techniques.

The developers provide a detailed settings menu covering display options, visual effects, and individual quality controls for shadows, reflections, lighting, materials, and more. Frame-generation modes can be activated through the NVIDIA control panel to improve smoothness, especially when ray-traced or path-traced rendering is enabled.

"S-Game has delivered a masterpiece with its first major PC and console release that stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the absolute peak of the genre," said Francesco De Meo, a colleague of the reviewer.

Overall, the game emphasizes fast-paced combat within richly detailed environments, but achieving the highest visual fidelity demands high-end hardware or the use of upscaling and frame-generation technologies.
