Ric Flair, 77, was taken to a Tampa hospital after a fall that injured his face, hours after he announced a leg blood clot diagnosis that limited his travel.

Ric Flair, the 77-year-old WWE Hall of Famer, was rushed to a Tampa, Florida hospital on Friday after he fell outside a restaurant and sustained facial injuries, according to reports. The incident occurred shortly after the wrestler posted on social media that doctors had diagnosed a blood clot in his leg and restricted his travel to three to four hours, prompting him to cancel a scheduled appearance at Washington State Horror Con in Seattle.

Flair wrote that the clot was “extremely serious and can be life-threatening,” citing recent high-profile cases as a reminder of the condition’s risks. He added that he was slated to undergo a medical procedure to treat the affected vein, hoping it would enable him to resume traveling once recovered.

The fall resulted in a cut to his head and eye, and emergency responders transported him to the hospital for treatment. Earlier in May, Flair had disclosed ongoing health concerns and indicated he was focusing on his recovery.
