Amazon Prime members may receive up to $200 refund after FTC settlement

Resumen

Amazon will automatically issue refunds of up to $200 to eligible Prime subscribers who attempted to cancel between June 2019 and June 2025 and used limited Prime benefits.

Amazon has begun issuing automatic refunds to qualifying Prime members after a $2.5 billion settlement with the Federal Trade Commission. The refunds, up to $200 each, are being sent to customers who enrolled in Prime between June 23 2019 and June 23 2025, attempted to cancel online during that period without success, and used no more than 20 Prime benefits such as Prime Video or Amazon Music within a 12-month span. > "Payments will be sent via Venmo, PayPal or a mailed check, and recipients have 60 days to redeem the refund after the issue date," the company said. Customers do not need to file a claim or submit paperwork. Those who previously received $51 from an earlier settlement may receive an additional $149. The refunds are expected to reach eligible members by April of next year.
