Ducks host Kings in preseason matchup at Honda Center

Resumen

The Anaheim Ducks will face the Los Angeles Kings in a preseason game on Saturday, with both teams looking to fine-tune their lineups ahead of the regular season.

The Anaheim Ducks will open their second preseason game against the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday at 7 p.m. PT at the Honda Center. The contest will be broadcast on FOXLA+ (KCOP-13) and streamed live via the team’s website and mobile app.

Anaheim enters the game with a 1-0-0 preseason record after a 6-2 win over the San Jose Sharks on Sunday, in which forward Beckett Sennecke recorded a hat trick, scoring his first two goals within just over four minutes. Additional goals were contributed by Leo Carlsson, Jackson LaCombe and Tristan Luneau.

Head coach Joel Quenneville, now in his second season with the Ducks, said the team aims to start the regular season strongly despite heightened expectations. > "I know teams are going to be ready for us," Quenneville said. "Our objective is to get off to a strong start, and we know our division will be more competitive. Expectations are higher, which is healthy, but we have to respond the right way and take ownership to be consistently strong."

The Kings come into the game winless in preseason (0-2-0) after a 6-3 loss to Utah. Los Angeles hired Peter Laviolette as head coach in June, making him the franchise’s 32nd head coach and ranking him among the winningest coaches in NHL history. The team will play its first season in more than 20 years without longtime forward Anze Kopitar, who retired in April, and has added veterans Mats Zuccarello, Erik Haula and Corey Perry through free agency.

The Ducks’ projected lineup for the game was released earlier today.
