Presley Gerger's Struggles Revealed After His Death at 27

Presley Gerber, 27, died on Sunday at a rehabilitation center in Santa Monica, California, in what authorities described as a suspected overdose. Friends who knew him said he had been dealing with personal struggles for years, describing him as a "great kid" who was "super nice" but troubled by issues beyond his high-profile family background.

"He had demons. Not all related to being a celebrity kid," one source said, adding that it was difficult to know whether people approached him as friends or for other reasons.

The source, who met Gerber while he worked intermittently at his father's Malibu restaurant during the pandemic, said the family was shocked by his death. Another person who had worked with his father described the Gerber family as well-liked, noting that "Rande was the nicest dude. I don’t think anyone would have a bad thing to say about them."

Gerber had checked into the $7.7 million Resolutions Living facility only days before his death. Emergency services responded to a 911 call reporting cardiac arrest and overdose, and police, ambulance staff, and firefighters remained on scene for several hours.

His sister, model Kaia Gerber, and mother Cindy Crawford were said to be grieving deeply. A family representative asked for privacy during the difficult period.
