Presley Gerber, 27, was found dead at a Los Angeles-area addiction treatment facility on Sept. 20, 2026, with authorities investigating the death as an overdose.

Presley Gerber, the 27-year-old son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, died at a rehabilitation center in the Los Angeles area on Sept. 20, 2026. Police and fire crews responded to the facility, attempted life-saving measures and later pronounced death at 09:45 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. The Santa Monica Police Department is leading the investigation, which is being treated as a suspected drug overdose and no foul play is suspected.

Family representatives asked for privacy while the investigation continues. Gerber had been living in a sober house on the center’s grounds at the time of his death. Earlier reports indicated he had struggled with substance abuse and mental-health issues for several years, including a 2018 DUI arrest and a 2025 disclosure of prescription medication dependency.

"Presley Gerber was arrested and released on his own recognizance and no bail was posted," his attorney Scott Spindel said, adding that Gerber had no prior criminal record.

Gerber, who began modeling at age 15 and debuted on the runway for Moschino in 2019, had publicly discussed his efforts to overcome addiction, including therapy, a wellness retreat in Mexico, and a desire to help others facing similar challenges. His sister Kaia Gerber previously spoke about the family’s struggle with his addiction.

The cause of death remains under investigation, and officials have not confirmed whether naloxone (Narcan) was administered.
