Andy Cohen apologizes to Julia Stiles after her strong Dancing with the Stars debut
During a live interview, Andy Cohen expressed regret for earlier remarks about Julia Stiles' dancing, praising her performance on Dancing with the Stars and acknowledging his previous comments had motivated her.
Andy Cohen used Wednesday night’s episode of "Watch What Happens Live" to apologize to actress Julia Stiles for past criticism of her dancing abilities. He said, "Julia, I am so sorry. I am the last person who should be giving anyone feedback on their dancing. Case in point," before showing a clip of himself dancing at a recent Las Vegas show. After viewing Stiles’ debut on "Dancing with the Stars," Cohen praised her, stating, "Great job, Julia Stiles. You killed it tonight. You did amazing tonight, I know you’re going to have a great run." Stiles’ introductory segment for the competition noted that Cohen’s earlier comment—calling her "not the greatest dancer on the planet"—had a lasting impact on her. She said the remark motivated her to prove doubters wrong and that she agreed to join the show only after hearing his criticism. Stiles expressed confidence in her partnership with professional dancer Ezra Sosa and hinted at a future on-air apology from Cohen if they win.
