Bill Belichick denies girlfriend's involvement in UNC football program
Coach Bill Belichick said claims that his partner Jordon Hudson plays a role in North Carolina's football operations are false, reiterating the university's statement that she holds no position with the team.
Coach Bill Belichick told the Wall Street Journal that his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, has never been involved in the University of North Carolina football program. He said he asked her to be copied on personal-appearance emails after he was hired in December because he was juggling multiple media commitments, but that the request was unrelated to university affairs.
"That's just a flat-out lie," Belichick said, rejecting reports that Hudson was copied on every email and involved in team matters.
The university has previously confirmed that Hudson is not employed by or assigned any duties within the football staff, and Belichick echoed that sentiment, noting that any ongoing communication between them is unrelated to UNC.
The clarification comes as the program faces a broader investigation into various off-field issues, including a recent resignation of general manager Michael Lombardi and inquiries into alleged misconduct involving other staff members.
