Utah Governor Reveals Suspect in Charlie Kirk's Assassination Held Leftist Views
Utah Governor Spencer Cox disclosed that Tyler Robinson, the suspect in Charlie Kirk's assassination, held leftist ideologies and had a transgender partner.
Utah Governor Spencer Cox has revealed that Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old suspect in the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, held leftist ideologies and had a transgender partner.
"There clearly was a leftist ideology," Cox stated during an interview on NBC's "Meet the Press," citing information from Robinson's family and friends.
Robinson, who grew up in a conservative household, reportedly diverged from his family's political views, spending significant time in "dark places" online.
"Friends have confirmed that there was kind of that deep, dark internet, the Reddit culture, and these other dark places of the internet where this person was going deep," Cox added.
The governor also confirmed that Robinson was in a romantic relationship with his transgender roommate, who is transitioning from male to female.
"This partner has been incredibly cooperative, had no idea that this was happening, and is working with investigators right now," Cox said.
Robinson has not cooperated with authorities since his arrest, but his family and roommate have been assisting the investigation.
Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed on Wednesday during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University. The incident has intensified discussions about political polarization and violence in the United States.
