Tesla's Robotaxi Service to Include Safety Monitors During Initial Rides

Tesla has begun sending invitations for its upcoming robotaxi service, scheduled to commence on June 22, 2025. These invitations indicate that a 'safety monitor' will be present in the front passenger seat during initial rides. This approach differs from previous statements by CEO Elon Musk, who had suggested the service would operate without human supervision. The invitations specify that rides can be requested between 6 AM and 12 AM within a designated area, excluding airports. Service availability may be affected by adverse weather conditions. Passengers are permitted to bring one additional guest aged 18 or older.
