Trump appoints Stephen Miller as White House chief of staff
President Donald Trump announced on 6 November that Stephen Miller would succeed Susie Wiles as White House chief of staff, hours after he told 60 Minutes that staff changes were forthcoming following the midterm elections. CNBC reported that Trump said Miller would assume the chief-of-staff role in the post-election period.
CBC added that Miller, a deputy chief of staff, would take over as Wiles moved to a political operation. The Straits Times noted that the appointment came as the administration prepared for a Democratic-controlled Congress.
