Channel 4 cancels UK 'Married at First Sight' after rape allegations
Channel 4 said on 6 November that it had cancelled the UK version of 'Married at First Sight' after two former participants alleged they were raped during filming, even though an external review found the programme's welfare framework compliant with broadcasting rules. The decision follows a Panorama investigation, reported by Variety, that uncovered multiple sexual-assault claims against on-screen partners and prompted a review of participant welfare. Earlier reports, such as from News.
com. au, noted that regulators, including Ofcom, had launched their own inquiries into the series.
